She studied till Class XII and applied for a vacancy under the Multi-Tasking Services. She cleared the Staff Selection Commission exam and was offered a job in the Income Tax department in Mumbai Zone.
Thirty-year-old Ramanand is a resident of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. He was born blind to a low income family. His father passed away when he was studying in Class VIII, which left the family in a financial crisis, and affected the boy’s education.

Arun Baraskar, chairman of the Blind Welfare Association, said the association has dedicated over a decade to providing a platform for visually challenged players.
Shahista Bano is a young girl who lives with her family in Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. Her father works as a daily wage labourer, and mother is a homemaker. Shahista and her siblings were born with low vision, making it difficult to independently study or carry out activities of daily living.

Illuri Ajay Kumar Reddy (Blind Cricket) is among the 26 sportspersons selected for the Arjuna Awards for outstanding performance in Sports and Games 2023, who will be awarded by the President of India at a specially organized function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 9, 2024.
