Tech Roshni Online Workshop on Using Standard G-Mail with NVDA & JAWS on 6 Apr 2024 at 4:30 PM by XRCVC
St. Xavier’s College, XRCVC -Viviana extension is happy to announce an online workshop on the theme “Using Standard G-Mail with NVDA & JAWS” under its Tech Roshni series – A step at bridging the digital divide for blind and low vision persons. This Workshop is supported by the Dhun Pestonji Parakh Discretionary Trust.
Extensive use of Android phones and G-Mail has become an integral part of today’s lifestyle. Many screen reader users were using basic HTML view while using G-Mail on computer due to simple interface. But Google has removed basic HTML view from beginning 2024, Several users are getting puzzled to use the standard view, but this view provides an interface like that of other Google Workspace programs, and can be functional using keyboard commands stated by either Google or screen reader. It also offers access to the entire range of G-Mail features.
In an upcoming workshop, we will learn usable features of G-Mail in standard view with screen reader NVDA & JAWS.
Eligibility: participants should have a good knowledge of Internet browsing, typing and screen reader.

Criteria: Persons with print disabilities such as blindness and low vision. Participant should be a screen reader user.
Date: 6^th April 2024, (Saturday).
Time: 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Venue: Online Session (Zoom conferencing platform)

Important Note:
1.      Instructions to login will be sent by email on 5^th April 2024, Friday to the registered participants only.
2.      After clicking the above given link, fill in the form. Please do not click on the Request Edit Access button. If you click on it the form will not get submitted. Once the form is filled then click on the Submit button only.
3.      Participants are requested to use their personal earphones/headphones during the session.
4.      After successful form submission, you will receive acknowledgement email from Google, if you requested.
