Zambia National Association of the Blind in Urban and Rural Areas has urged government to budget for education materials for the visually impaired in the 2025 National Budget.

Finance and National Planning Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane, is this Friday, 27th September, 2024, expected to present the proposed 2025 National Budget to the National Assembly.

Lucknow: Sanjeeta Vishwakarma, a  visually impaired student, is set to get three  gold medals in different categories at the  Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University  convocation on Friday.
Before joining DSMNRU, Sanjeeta  had vision in one eye and was enrolled in Saltanat Bahadur  Post Graduate College, Jaunpur. When she was  in BA second year, the vision in the only eye also got low,   and she had to leave the course midway.
"My dream to  complete higher education was shaken when, in the second  year of my BA course, I lost vision in both eyes.

Two Hojai kids develop suit to aid visually impaired

Guwahati: Demonstrating remarkable innovation and a commitment to inclusivity, two student--scientists from Hojai district have developed a path guide suit designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate their surroundings safely and independently.
Class X students Abdul Subur and Ankita Dey designed the wearable device using sensors to detect obstacles and provide real-time guidance to the user.

Visually Challenged student finally secures visa to Italy
Hubballi: Suhas Dharwad, who was denied permission by the Italian embassy, has now received the visa to study at a prestigious university in Italy. Responding to the TOI report dated Aug 18, Union minister Pralhad Joshi sought assistance from the minister of external affairs S Jaishankar. Now, the embassy has sent the visa to the student.

Suhas told TOI that he had received a call from Anuj Nirwal officer on special duty for Italy, Portugal, and San Marino at the ministry of external affairs (MEA), on Aug 21.
