Supplementary board exams begin
The supplementary board examinations for Classes 12 and 10 began across Tamil Nadu on Monday with the language paper.
Following the cancellation of the SSLC examination, which was to have been held in March, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Class 10 students who had registered themselves for the examination through schools were declared promoted by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
They were given mark-sheets based on their half-yearly and quarterly examinations.

At a time when Tamil Nadu is singling out children with disabilities by forcing them to sit for board exams despite the pandemic, comes this positive step towards inclusive education thanks to the efforts of State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Diethono Nakhro.
All schools in Nagaland, recognised and registered by the state government will henceforth provide inclusive education to children with disabilities.
Audio capsules: A boon for visually impaired students
Lucknow, Sep 20 (IANS) Audio capsules recorded by a faculty member of a degree college in Uttar Pradesh have proved to be a boon for visually challenged students.
The faculty member Rakesh Jain who is recording these capsules of knowledge is also visually impaired.
“The audio module is in big demand in European countries where the word spread through NRIs at rehabilitation universities,” said Jain.

Plea seeks steps for visually, auditorily impaired students during online classes
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought the Centre’s response on a plea seeking mechanism for students with visual or auditory impairment to help them cope with online classes being conducted by educational institutions due to the ongoing pandemic.
A bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad, conducting the hearing through video conferencing, issued notice to the Ministries of Human Resource Development and Social Justice and Empowerment and asked them to file counter affidavit. The court listed the matter for further hearing on June 2.
