छात्रवृत्ति और दूसरी योजनाओं के लाभार्थियों के लिए आधार कार्ड का इस्तेमाल अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है। केंद्र सरकार ने गुरुवार को जारी बयान में बताया कि दिव्यांग लोगों के लिए आधार का विवरण देना अनिवार्य होगा। केंद्र सरकार ने नए नियमों के संबंध में जानकारी दी है।
केंद्र सरकार ने दिव्यांगों के लिए छह छात्रवृत्तियों, कई योजनाओं का लाभ उठाने के लिए पहचान दस्तावेज के रूप में आधार को अनिवार्य कर दिया है। जिनके पास आधार संख्या नहीं है उन्हें इन लाभों का लाभ उठाने के लिए अन्य दस्तावेजों के साथ आधार नामांकन पर्ची जमा करनी होगी।

Govt mandates Aadhaar use for availing scholarships, benefit of schemes for disabled people

Those without Aadhaar numbers have to submit Aadhaar enrolment slips along with other documents to avail these benefits.
New Delhi: The government has mandated the use of Aadhaar as identity document for availing six scholarships and benefit of as many schemes and initiatives meant for people with disabilities.

Odisha govt signs MoU with IIT-Bhubaneswar to provide quality education to blind students
Bhubaneswar, Mar 4 (PTI) The Odisha government on Monday signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology-Bhubaneswar, in a bid to provide inclusive and quality education to visually impaired students in the state.
The Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department signed the agreement with the institute in the presence of SSEPD Minister Ashok Panda and Principal Secretary Bishnupada Sethi here.

AHMEDABAD: When Tarun Kumar Vashisth, 42, defended his  doctoral thesis at IIM Ahmedabad (IIM-A)  recently, he set a record of sorts. Vashisth, who is  visually impaired since birth, has become the first doctor  of philosophy (PhD) with disability from the  premier B-school. His thesis maps the experience of visually  of visually impaired employees in corporate India.
 

Blind navigators use Braille maps to guide drivers

Chennai: Around 100 cars that set out for a 40-km  drive from Cathedral Road were navigated by   visually challenged people using braille map 
Around 120 people took part, most of them had come with thei   family. The navigators hailed from different walks of life  from teachers to professors to homemakers.

Andhra Pradesh: Foolproof arrangements made for 9-day teacher test

VIJAYAWADA: Elaborate measures were taken by the School Education department to ensure a fair conduct of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 examination from February 27 to March 6 across the State. A total of 2,67,599 candidates are expected to appear for the nine-day examination.

In a release, School Education Commissioner S Suresh Kumar announced that 120 online centres have been facilitated across the State, including ones in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Odisha.

Delh HC asks JNU to provide hostel accommodation to visually impaired student

The HC directed JNU to provide free hostel accommodation to visually impaired student challenging his eviction due to rules against second postgraduate courses.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the JNU to provide hostel accommodation free of cost to a visually impaired student, who was evicted from the hostel, along with other entitlements to which a differently abled student is entitled to under the law and the policies of the varsity till completion of his master’s degree.
