A colouring book specially for blind & low vision kids by Raised Lines Foundation

Raised Lines Foundation, at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, has developed a colouring book especially for blind and low vision children, which aims to bring the joy of creativity to all children, regardless of disability.

All children love to colour the world around them, be it things from nature or cartoon characters. It's a joy that many blind and low vision kids do not get to experience. Raised Lines Foundation (RLF), the Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi (IIT-D)-incubated enterprise is out to change that.

List steps taken for enforcing amended disabilities Act: HC

Punjab has also been directed to furnish the list of ‘physically handicapped’ before indicating in an additional affidavit the number of such persons receiving monetary benefits under the schemes. It has further been asked to give details of persons issued disability certificates district wise.

This app helps visually impaired users read

Honor launched a new application along with a new colour option for the honor 20 Pro at IFA 2019. The app, called PocketVision, works by using Honor’s AI and the high-resolution camera on the Honor 20 series to provide the user assistance in three forms.

The first mode is simple, it reads out whatever text is identifiable in front of the camera aloud to the user. The app can detect English, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and German using the HiAI platform and OCR by converting pictures into text.

No change in size of bank notes in near future: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) told the Bombay high court (HC) on Friday that it does not intend to change the size of currency notes in the near future.

Senior advocate VR Dhond, who represented the banking regulator, made this statement in response to a query made by the HC bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and justice Bharati Dangre.

Honor launches AI-powered app for the visually impaired

Beijing, Sep. 8 (IANS): Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor has launched its new AI-powered app ‘PocketVision at IFA 2019, which aims to help people read documents, menus and other hard to read texts.

“With the launch of this app, we hope to create an enhanced reading experience for people all around the world, enabling a greater sense of independence and giving people with low vision the confidence to unlock their potential and pursue their

passions,” George Zhao, President of Honor said in a statement.
