The Social Welfare Department orchestrated the function under the overarching theme for this year’s observance: “United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities (Divyangjan)

Braille ballot papers ready for poll day
Hyderabad: The visually-impaired voters in the state can now cast their votes on November 30 through the braille ballot papers which has been introduced by the Election Commission. There are 56,000 blind voters in Telangana, according to the voters’ list
The chief electoral office(CEO) of Telangana has made special arrangement by printing around 50,000 pamphlets in braille script.
The bench noted that though the petition aims at public transport system under BMTC and the KSRTC, extending similar facilities in the buses operated by other private operators is required.
The high court on Thursday asked the state government to issue necessary circulars to ensure facilities, including audio announcements for the benefit of persons with disabilities traveling in private transport buses.
