Rahul Kumar Yadav is a 19-year-old resident of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. He is visually impaired since birth and has been dependent on his parents for daily navigation. He completed his education till Class 8 from a Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan identified school. Both his parents were farmers and it grew difficult for them to accompany him every day to school. Thus, he could not continue to study further than this.

A resident of Nanjangud city in Karnataka, Pooja is totally blind. However, she has not allowed her vision impairment to come in the way of her ambitions. She is a diligent student who performed exceedingly well in her Class 10 and 12 exams.
15-year-old Ajay Kumar was born blind in Sirsa, Haryana. His parents took him to various eye specialists with the hope of finding a cure. But the doctors told them that there were very low chances of restoring the boy’s vision. Ajay is now studying in Class 8 at the Helen Keller Blind School in Sirsa and is passionate about becoming a music teacher. Ajay’s father is a daily wage labourer and his mother is a housewife, who has been a constant support to him, encouraging him to be independent despite his inability to see.
There has been an increase of almost 10 per cent in the number of registrations under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category at the Delhi University, officials said Sunday.
A total of 1,665 people have registered under this category on the varsity’s admission portal this year, including an acid attack victim and leprosy-cured persons.
Twenty-one conditions are included under the PwD category.

Children with special needs will now study along with regular students in secondary schools specially set up for inclusive education in the state, according to officials.
Four such schools are being set up in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Auraiya and Kannauj districts as part of a new initiative of the government.
District disabled empowerment officer, Prayagraj, Vipin Upadhyay said: “In Prayagraj, the special school is being constructed at a cost of Rs 16.97 crore in Gedurahi village of Meja development block, around 35km from the city in trans-Yamuna area.”
Snehakit Helpline is going to start classes for visually challenged students, studying in standard 5th to 10th. Coaching will be given in Science and Mathematics.
Classes will be held every Sunday, at Andheri office from June 2019. Interested students please contact by 28/6/2019
