WinVinaya Foundation is starting a training for Visually Impaired on
Software Development Skills - Java, SQL.

Training will be conducted in WinVinaya Foundation Bangalore campus.
It will start on Jan 20th, Thursday and will go for 3 months.

Visually Impaired candidates who have completed any graduation and have good knowledge of using Screen Readers - JAWS or NVDA can apply.

While the training will be done free of charge, the candidates have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and food.

LUCKNOW: Acknowledging the request of a visually challenged   student to change names of two city locations that he said  were derogatory towards the disabled, mayor Sanyukta Bhatia  announced on Tuesday that she would take measures to do so.  The new names would reflect famous personalities who  ontributed to society, she said.

Fighting odds, it organised national-level tournaments and exposure trips for the blind national team, only to be pulled back by the lack of support from the All India Football Federation (AIFF). But, not anymore. With an intensive three-day coaching session by national goalkeeping coach Rogerio Ramos, AIFF began its engagement with the blind football fraternity in India.

Plea in HC seeks standards for design; RBI’s reply sought

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought responses from the Centre and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on a plea seeking to lay down standards for design of banknotes and coins and make all forms of physical currency and digital means of transactions accessible to the visually impaired.

A Bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V.K. Rao sought response of the Centre and the central bank on the plea filed by an organisation working for empowerment of visually impaired persons.

The National A for Blind 2019 has begun in Nagpur from the 5th of January 2019. It is going to be an exciting event as top four players from this 14-player round robin event, qualify for the World Championship in Italy from 5th to 15th og April 2019. The favourite is definitely five-time National Champion Kishan Gangolli, but he will be receiving stiff resistance from youngsters Aryan Joshi. Marimuthu, Soundarya Pradhan and others. Regular readers of ChessBase India will remember that the 2018 edition of the National A for blind happened because of the crowdfunding done on ChessBase India.
