KOCHI: After completing 32 years in State Bank of India's  (SBI) Ernakulam metro station branch, Varghese K J, who is  also the president of Kerala Federation of the Blind (KFB)  will retire from his service on Friday as the chief  associate of the branch.

After all, she has faced a fair share of trials and tribulations after having lost her eye-sight at the age of five. “If you say everyone is equal, but you’re not treating others equally, then that’s the worst form of inequality,” says the lawyer, who has taken it upon herself to work at “taking equality beyond just a formality.” 

AHMEDABAD: Nine years after they were selected to fill  lok rakshak posts in the police department, the Gujarat high  court has directed the state government to appoint 10 colour   blind candidates to the posts immediately.

On the eve of Constitution Day, celebrated on November 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during the 50th episode of Maan Ki Baat that ‘it is a day to remember those great personalities who drafted our Constitution’.

The Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into force on January 26, 1950. Constitution Day was first celebrated four years ago in 2015, when the government decided to mark the day as a tribute to B.R. Ambedkar, who played a seminal role in the framing of the Constitution.
