Children With Disabilities Entitled To Basic Facilities Like Computer Fee Waiver: HC

The court ordered these benefits to be extended to the child studying in class 6 at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Noida, observing these are "basic facilities" for such children covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. 

Taking note of the problems faced by a student with visual impairment, the Delhi High Court has said  children with disabilities should be provided free uniforms and computer and transportation fee waiver to ensure they are not deprived of proper education at government-run Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Muskan, the 19-year-old athlete has a dream of making a giant leap at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games in long jump. Nidhi Mishra, at 28, is already an established athlete with a bronze at the 2018 Asian Para Games and is confident of a podium finish in discus throw at the quadrennial games.

Indian visually impaired judo team win gold

Lucknow: After a long wait of 12 years, the Indian visually  impaired judo team won one gold and a silver medal at the  IBSA Judo Tokyo International Open Tournament in Japan.
Kapil Parmar from Madhya Pradesh won gold in below 60kg weight category after defeating his opponents Junaedi from Indonesia, Abdurakhmonov Isokjon from Uzbekistan, Shukurov Sukhrob from Uzbekistan and Kim Hyeonbin from Korea in the round robin.

Pakistan regrets non-issuance of visa to its blind cricket team

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has deeply regretted non-issuance of visa to its blind cricket team by India for participation in the third T-20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind. The tournament is being played in India on 5-17 December 2022. This was stated in a statement released by Foreign Office the other day.
The statement came after Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) said India had denied the team the visas for the tournament which is taking place in the neighboring country from Dec 5 to 17.

This makes PNB’s digital products more inclusive and aims at building accessible customer service solutions via screen reading software.

T20 World Cup for Blind to start on December 5
The third T20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind will be held from December 5 to 17, 2022 in India. The participating nations for World Cup 2022 are Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the host, India. Around 150 players will be participating from all the countries and the tournament, which has a total of 24 matches, will take place in nine cities in India. The tournament is being organised to mark the World Disability Day celebrations universally.

The Samagra Shiksha, Kerala, (SSK) will observe International Day of Persons with Disabilities in block resource centres (BRCs) and schools across the State on December 3
A host of programmes will be organised under the umbrella of the 168 BRCs to communicate the day’s importance to the public.

Legal profession was only way to make difference, says first blind senior advocate

I knew I wanted to be a lawyer since I was nine,” says 68-year old senior advocate Santosh Kumar Rungta, who has been visually impaired since childhood. “It was in the third standard that I decided that if I ever want to make some difference in the life of the blind the only profession to achieve this is the legal profession. I studied with this single focus in mind.”
