To facilitate persons with disabilities, Haryana Government has launched a new scheme-- ‘Adapting Homes for the Differently-abled’, under which pension of six months would be given in advance to them for adapting their homes as per their requirement.
Although colours have no meaning for them, students of a residential school for blind girls in Berhampur of Odisha celebrated Holi on Thursday with colours of joy.
A number of schemes are being implemented for the welfare and benefit of the people with disabilities by the Union and state governments. BENGALURU: With the aim of promoting the advantages of swimming for people with disabilities, a free 10-day camp is being conducted at Sindhia Swimming Pool, Yelachananahalli, Kanakapura Road in the city. This is being organised by Astha, an NGO, and a support group ‘One Step At A Time’ in association with Karnataka Para Swimming Association. The camp, which started on March 9, will conclude on March 19.
