A principal scientist with a disability, who works at the Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and has been asking for a transfer to the environment technology division since October last year, has finally won his battle after staging a protest in front of the institute on Monday morning.

In a warning to those who sleep with their devices next to them, researchers have found two women who were affected by transient smartphone “blindness” – a condition where they went blind in one eye after gazing at smartphones in the dark.

Students with disabilities must come forward to make use of the opportunities provided by the Government and other sectors, and come up in life, said A.V.D. Narayana Rao, Assistant Director, Disable Welfare, Krishna district.
