The vice-chancellor of the university, Som Nath Sachdeva flagged off two electric-operated vehicles for transporting differently abled students free of cost on the campus. KU started free on-campus e-vehicle service for differently abled students.

Vision-impaired student seeks help to achieve his dreams

KOCHI: Being 80% visually impaired never stopped Arjun K Kumar, a native of Viyyur in Thrissur, from dreaming to become a law academician. He not only pursued a degree in Law from Thrissur Law College with high marks but even got admission to LLM under the special reservation category at the Ernakulam Law College.

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Club Sector-1 on  Sunday organised a unique Xmas celebration  for the visually impaired by screening of movie 83 in audio   described format. This had explanatory audio commentary in  segments that had only ambience sounds.
‘Divine Eyes,’  a music group of visually impaired artists, also enthralled   the audience. The event also signalled the start of  Countdown 2023 – the Club’s Xmas and New Years celebration.

Children With Disabilities Entitled To Basic Facilities Like Computer Fee Waiver: HC

The court ordered these benefits to be extended to the child studying in class 6 at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Noida, observing these are "basic facilities" for such children covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. 

Taking note of the problems faced by a student with visual impairment, the Delhi High Court has said  children with disabilities should be provided free uniforms and computer and transportation fee waiver to ensure they are not deprived of proper education at government-run Kendriya Vidyalayas.
