Blind students from 6 to 18 years study from nursery to eighth standard in this residential school.
Students learn vocal and instrumental music along with general studies.
Students can appear in exams conducted by recognised music colleges.
Students are lend Braille books from Library and also use various apparatus.
Handicapped students are taught to enhance their creativity abilities.
After passing out class eight, students can avail studying in outside general school-colleges staying at the student-hostel till the age of eighteen.

Clarke School for the Deaf and Mentally Retarded

Clarke School for the Deaf and Mentally Retarded , Chennai, Tamil Nadu was established in 1970 with the aim of giving rehabilitation services to the hearing impaired and intellectually disabled children. The organisation has special schools for hearing impaired and intellectually disabled children. In addition it has a special centre for deafblind children and a rural extension programme for reaching out to rural disabled children. It also implements various government schemes for the disabled and provides free diagnostic services.

Community Based Rehabilitation of people living with various disabilities is another intervention that touches thousands of lives.
