Job fair for differently abled persons

Hubballi: Samarthanam Trust will organise a job fair for differently abled candidates between 9am to 2pm on June 23 at Arts and Commerce Degree College Mahila Vidya Peeth in Vidyanagar. Krishna Lamani of Samarthanam Trust told reporters here on Monday that recent surveys of persons with disabilities in India found that they have lost their jobs post-Covid and their mere survival is a challenge. “Differently abled job-seekers offer a wider choice for recruiters. Over 500 skilled job- seekers 18-35 age group are expected to participate in the job fair.

Rani Ithape of National Association Of Blind, Nashik, bags 81% in SSC; wants to teach

NASHIK: Rani Ithape, a visually impaired daughter of a farmer from the Paithan taluka of Aurangabad district who studies at the National Association for the Blind (Nab) at Nashik topped the school with 81.4% marks in SSC.
Ithape, who has been visually impaired since birth, wishes to pursue a career in teaching. She wants to spread the light of knowledge and help everyone — especially the visually impaired — just like she got help from others. Both her parents are farmers and her brother is pursuing his graduation.

Pune: Kusumlata Malik, president, National Federation of the Blind of India (NFBI), emphasised the need for a separate education model in the National Education Policy (NEP) to address academic requirements of the visually impaired.

Pune,11th June 2022: The Hindu Mahila Sabha felicitated eight blind girls and their coach Vikram Singh who brought laurels playing for Maharashtra in the national football tournament organized by the Indian Blind Football Federation in May. Nashik: Visually impaired girl comes 2nd in her college

Nashik: Smruti Baragi, who is visually impaired, scored 83.7% in the HSC exam to bag the second position in her college in the arts stream. A resident of Nashik, Baragi is a student of the KTHM College. The youngest of three siblings now wants to appear for the competitive examination and join the civil services.
Baragi did her schooling at National Association for the Blind and scored 89% in the Class X. With both of her parents in the educational sector, Baragi said, “The cooperation of my parents, sisters and friends have helped men come out with flying colours.”
