Beyond Limits 2011, Annual Art Exhibition

Family Of Disabled promotes artists with disabilities through annual art exhibition-cum-sale in the Beyond Limits series.

There are 38 artists with different disabilities from across India who have been shortlisted by a jury of eminent artists to showcase their talent. In last exhibition, 60% of the works displayed found buyers.

We are offering the artists an opportunity which they deserve and yearn for - many of the participating artists are the first timers living in total  oblivion even after completing their Bachelors and Masters in Fine Arts.

8th Lal Advani Memorial Lecture

Windmills Attitudinal Training Program

We, Mitra Jyothi are an NGO located in Bangalore, which has been working for past 21 years for the empowerment of persons with visual impairment. Mitra Jyothi provide them educational facilities through our Talking Book Library, computer training and life skill training and, finally help them in getting employment. We have hostel facilities for 50 - 60 boys & girls above 18 years.

Sambhavana invites you for its annual disability seminar, ‘Practicing Disability Studies in India: Issues and Perspectives’, to be held on December Third, 2011. The venue of the conference is: Room no. 22, Arts Faculty, North Campus, University of Delhi.

Salwan Marathon

The Salwan Cross Country Run for school children + visually impaired students and intellectually challenged students is being organized on Sunday the 6th of November 2011 at the Army Equestrian Centre, Brar Square, Delhi Cantt. This event is supported by UNICEF and FICCI and recognized by the Athletic Federation of India.

New disability law draft - discussion on FM Gold tonight @ 9:30

FM Gold, the radio channel of All India Radio, tonight at 9:30 in its weekly phone in programme called 'Public Speak' would discuss about the draft of the new disability law. The 30 minute show can be heard on Doordarshan DTH as well. This is a live show from Delhi, which as per AIR official, is also relayed by the other three FM Gold stations and few other channels of AIR.

Description: Empower the IT staff of colleges with knowledge & application of assistive technologies so that they can support training & use of computers by students with disabilities in their institutions.

Fourth AbilityFEST 2011, India International Disability Film Festival

We, Ability Foundation are really happy to tell you that this year, the inaugural function at 6.30 pm on Monday October 13 showcases our very own Tamil Blockbuster Deiva Thirumagal ,screened for the first time in India with audio description  for the blind. As you know, audio description is a pre recorded narrative describing what is happening on the screen in between dialogues so as to enhance the cinema viewing experience for the visually impaired.
