Workshop on Assistive Technology for Blind and Visually Impaired By Chakshumathi in Conjunction with Daisy Forum, India
Registration starts at 9.00 a.m.
Disability and Cinema festival, being organised by NMML, will spread over a period of about one and a half month from 3 May to 13 June 2011.
We plan to screen one Hindi and one English movie every week.
Orientation Program on Assistive Technologies
(2 batches, 10 participants each) Duration: Four days, 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM
Who can apply: Personnel working in the IT department or computer labs of various colleges
Description: Empower the IT staff of colleges with knowledge & application of assistive technologies so that they can support training & use of computers by students with disabilities in their institutions.
Admission: Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) will write to different colleges inviting participation.
We, Ability Foundation are really happy to tell you that this year, the inaugural function at 6.30 pm on Monday October 13 showcases our very own Tamil Blockbuster Deiva Thirumagal ,screened for the first time in India with audio description for the blind. As you know, audio description is a pre recorded narrative describing what is happening on the screen in between dialogues so as to enhance the cinema viewing experience for the visually impaired.

Eyeway, a project of Score Foundation, Delhi, is a knowledge resource about living a fulfilling life with blindness/low-vision. One of our five ways to disseminate this knowledge is through workshops & seminars.
