Members of the Access India met for the first time during December, 2005. Members from different parts of the country took part with lots of enthusiasm and there were many presentations and discussions. Further to the convention, over the two years, there is a huge traffic with discussions on many issues pertaining to various issues for visually impaired from education to employment, technologies, accessibility and many more and the members database is increased immensly. Hence, it is decided to organize 2nd Convention of Access India.

The Delhi state level open chess tournament for visually challenged partakers is going to be organised by Indian Association of the Blind. The event would start at 9 a.m. on 11th August 2007 and end on 12th August 2007. This is an open competition and everybody is encouraged to participate in the event. All the participants are advised to bring their own chess board to play. Lunch and tea will be provided to all the participants. We would not be able to provide accomodation facility for participating in the tournament.

Thailand Association of the Blind TAB holds a seminar for blind people to prepare them in case they face another round of the tsunami.
, , The seminar is aimed at adjusting plans and updating tsunami news for blind people. TAB will inform its member the working process of tsunami warning system and evacuation routes so they can survive if the disaster takes place. All plans for blind people to deal with the tsunami disaster have already been detailed in the documents of United Nations World Summit on the Information Society WSIS.
