As you are aware, UN CRPD was passed in December 2006 and India has been an active participant in the deliberations. It is also one of the most important events in the history of the disability rights movement. The task before us is now to understand the CPRD, interpret it, disseminate it and build action plans around it. In order to start the process AARTH ASTHA is organizing a two day workshop on the 21st and 22nd of May 2007 in Delhi.
The Venu Institute of Universal Education is a unit of the Venu Charitable Society, attached to the Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre and affiliated with Jamia Hamdard University as an off-campus facility.

AccessIndia Convention 2005 is a convention of the members of AccessIndia, an e-group of visually impaired people.The convention will have discussions on issues such as accessibility, technology, law, employment and presentations by organisations etc.
Subjects covered will include legislative developments from the DVLA, the loss of independence as a result of people having to give up their licence, dispensing for drivers, suitable tints and visual field problems. Delegates will also be able to experience a blind driving challenge., , The cost of the conference is £100 which includes lecture materials, lunch and refreshments.
The Saissymphony Orchestra, conducted by Klaus Maurer, will perform the Concierto de Aranjuez in a special concert for 40,000 people. The concert is a tribute to the music of Joaquín Rodrigo.
At the same time, a D.V.D. Shadows and Light which is an excellent introduction to the extraordinary figure and personality of Joaquín Rodrigo, will be shown to Indian students.
