Blind cricketers to wait till January 5 for government approval

BENGALURU: Association for Blind in India (CABI) president GK Mahantesh said the national team will wait till January 5 for clearance from government to travel to Pakistan for the fifth World Cup to be held from January 7-21.
"We will wait till January 5 for clearance from the government to travel to Pakistan for World Cup," he told reporters here.

Cricket: Sri Lanka for the Blind Cricket leaves for World Cup 2018

The Blind National Cricketers will leave for Dubai early January to take part in the Blind Cricket World Cup which will be held there from January 7 to 25, 2018. 

The 5th such World Cup for the visually impaired is being organized by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council with matches to be held in Ajman (UAE) and the final which will be held in Pakistan. 

Led by Captain Deshapriya, a team of 16 players and 4 officials have been selected and will represent Sri Lanka in the tournament. 

FIRST ONGC PARA GAMES CONCLUDE

The first edition of the three-day ONGC Para Games, an HR initiative for the specially abled employees, has evoked considerable enthusiasm among the 120 participants, out of which 20 were lady sports enthusiasts. Speaking on the occasion, ONGC HR director DD Misra said, “The philosophy behind conducting the ONGC Para Games is to provide similar sporting avenues to specially abled employees that the regular employees enjoy”.

New Delhi: The Cricket Association for Blind (CABI) on Monday announced a 17-member squad for the fifth ODI World Cup which will be held in Pakistan and Dubai from January 7 to 21, 2018. Apart from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa are the other participating nations in the event.

DEHRADUN TO HOLD NATIONAL BLIND CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Dehradun would host the National Blind Cricket tournament from October 23 to 26. More than 200 players from different parts of the country would participate in the event which is taking place for the first time in the State.

A delegation of the North Zone Blind Cricket Association called upon the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at his residence on Sunday and informed him about the tournament.

Project Vision’s `Walk For The Blind, Shillong On Oct 12

SHILLONG: On account of World Sight Day, 2017, the Project Vision, North East will organize “Walk for the Blind, Shillong” on October 12 with the primary objective to raise awareness on eye donation.

“Over 500 people are expected to attend the walk and 50 blind people will also participate”, Bhanwar Nain Singh Didan, President Blind Walk Shillong 2017 told reporters on Monday during a press meet.
