Calling the push towards ‘Accessible India’ a mere superficial attempt to make life better for the disabled citizens, Rinku Malik, 31, a music teacher from city, says that there needs to be a deeper understanding of what independence and self-reliance means for persons with disabilities (PwDs).
As per the AISHE report of 2018-19, a total of 85,877 PwD (Persons with Disabilities) students are enrolled in higher education in India. To support and encourage these students to pursue their education, different government departments run several scholarship schemes. These schemes range from merit-based programmes to means-based and merit-cum-means based programmes.

Since then, he slowly started losing his vision, and by 2012, it had dropped to a point when he could not read anything. Losing his vision had impacted Bhargava, both mentally and physiologically. Low on confidence, the 53-year-old even started questioning himself.
DU released the tentative datesheet for December 2020 examinations on 5th November 2020. The examinations will commence on 12th December and go on till 24th December in Open Book Examinations (OBE) mode.

Modi's comments were in the context of the UN choosing the theme of "Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World” to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This theme reflects a growing understanding that disability is part of the human condition. Almost everyone will be temporarily or permanently impaired at some point in life. Despite this, few countries have adequate mechanisms in place to respond fully to the needs of people with disabilities.
