PANJAB UNIVERSITY has finally launched a formal equal opportunity cell for people with disabilities (EOC-PwD) on the lines of the SC/ST Cell. Students said they have been struggling for the past two years to get the cell established as it exists in other top universities such as Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. According to the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, all universities and colleges should form an equal opportunity cell for SC, ST, OBC and PWD students.
A civil judge and judicial magistrate of Sarwar town of Ajmer district, Brahmananda grew up in Bhilwara and studied in a government school. He cleared the 2013 Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination in the first attempt, securing the 83rd rank, reported The Times of India.

The Onome Akinlolu Majaro (OAM) Foundation, a group championing the plights of persons with albinism, has given a four-year scholarship to a blind albino, 29-year-old Victor Kalu, a native of Bende in Abia State and 100-level student of History & Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
MADURAI: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Monday ordered notice to various organs of the state government and the Tamil University on a plea seeking steps to disseminate ‘Thirukkural, the ancient didactic Tamil literary work, to the visually impaired by bringing out a Braille version in Tamil as well as English.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams for Class 10 and 12 are slated to begin on March 5. Delhi has the highest number of registered students, also maximum in the differently abled category, attempting the exams this year. This, despite the number of students registered for the board exams dropping from 2017.

NEW DELHI: Collaborative research by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and Indiana University of the US has helped develop cost-effective designs for tactile graphics. The research, conducted over three years, will help improve the life of visually impaired people. Tactile graphics, which are also known as raised line drawings, are a means of conveying non-textual information to people who are blind or visually impaired, and may include representations of pictures, maps, graphs and other images.
