The readers must be aware of the fact that Late Sh. Madanlal Khandelwal had always thought and contributed for the betterment of the blind brothers and sisters of India despite living abroad for years. His thoughts and ideas were creative. He was not a preacher, but he certainly wanted to prove his worth. It is true that he always lived a saintly life. Therefore, the Confederation has been organizing Braille Essay competition to commemorate his contributions for last several years.
Lena Nargis was merely two years old when her parents discovered her loss of vision due to a retinal problem. Nonetheless, they wanted her to have a bright future with an equal access to education. Lena’s father became a key motivational force in her life.
32-year-old Santosh hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. Despite his low vision, he finished Class XII from a mainstream school. As he prepared for higher education, he was advised to undergo a surgery that could improve his eyesight. The reverse happened, and Santosh went completely blind. This forced him to drop his studies and confine himself to his home. He sat depressed and idle for eight years.
