15th Blind Challenge Car Rally 2021 organised in Bhopal

Arushi and Dilip Buildcon Limited organized ‘The 15th Blind Challenge Car Rally 2021’ on Sunday. PK Mishra was present as the Chief Guest and flagged off the first vehicle and started the rally from DB city Mall, Bhopal.

Supriya Jatav Gold Medalist, Common Wealth Games and Winner of US Open Karate Championship, Atul Kataria, Rohit Trivedi, Ashutosh Roy were also present as special guest. The first car was driven by Aruneshwar Singh Deo with Navigator Nisha Ojha.

Loshya Dicoth, a resident of Kadukutty village in Thrissur district of Kerala, is a person with low vision. For 35 years, she struggled with all aspects of daily living. Somehow she managed to complete her education and get a specialized training in accounting, with the hope of getting a job. But deteriorating vision didn’t help much with her independent dreams. She was married off to a person employed as a driver in a gas agency, and they have a daughter studying in Class V.

A new deal for people with disabilities needed in budget

India enacted a law to protect the interests of migrant workers in 1979 with all good intentions. It ensured fair and decent conditions of employment along with the licensing of contractors who employ migrant workers, said details of all migrant workers should be provided to the relevant authorities and had a host of other good features. Yet this country saw the utter misery of the migrant workers during the Covid lockdown, with thousands marching home on foot with nothing to hang on to except their miserable belongings.

Pingla Ghar inmates get Aadhaar cards

Deprived of state pension schemes and other medical facilities due to the unavailability of identity cards, the inmates of Pingla Ghar on Monday received their Aadhaar cards. The members of state advisory body for the disabled people organised a camp to make Aadhaar cards of the physically disabled and elderly people.
