Employment Department of NAB, Mumbai  will be  conducting Online Competitive Exam Training Classes for Visually Impaired.

Candidates to prepare them for Banking, Railways, Staff Selection and other Competitive Examinations. The classes will be held thrice a week i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 
Timings: 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Language: English, Marathi & Hindi

Visually impaired Srinagar boy secures 461 marks in class 10th

Arsalan Showkat, a 20-year-old visually-impaired from Barbarshah Srinagar has qualified his class 10th exam securing 461 marks out of 500.

Arsalan, according to her mother Ruhi Showkat, was born a normal child, but three months after his birth he lost his eyesight.
 

Arsalan was studying in Solia Sublime High School, Rajbagh and appeared in the class 10th examination in November last year.

Samarthanam Bhavan, a unique building for the disabled

Bengaluru-based NGO Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled has come up with state-of-the-art infrastructure to suit the needs of people with disabilities.  The newly-constructed Samarthanam Bhavan is a three-storied barrier-free access building in JP Nagar 2nd Phase that can accommodate 60 differently-abled women and 20 elderly people. It was constructed with support from Morgan Stanley.  To be inaugurated on Friday, the building is staircase-free and has ramps for the easy movement of wheelchair-bound residents.

Delhi govt sets up advisory board to implement disability rights act

The 45-member board will be chaired by the social welfare minister and will play a key role in addressing problems faced by persons with disability and making the city disabled-friendly.

The Delhi government has set up a state advisory board on disability to assist the government departments in the implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016.
