‘National Federation of the Blind’ centre to be established at Imphal

IMPHAL, Apr 3: The National Federation of the Blind is planning to establish a centre at Imphal to enable the blind people of the State to avail the benefits of its various programmes.
Speaking to media persons today, the placement officer of the federation, Santumani Deka said that National Federation of the Blind is an organisation dedicated to helping blind people all over the country.
‘The federation has many branches throughout the country. One of them will be established in Manipur at the earliest. The federation also set up an educational institution by establishing a North East Centre in Assam”, he said adding that the federation, besides establishing a training and rehabilitation centre, has also introduced many welfare programmes for blind people.
Santumani Deka pointed out that the federation plan to establish a centre at Manipur to enable its services to reach the blind people in the State.
