The 13th National Cricket tournament for the blind will be played in Bangalore from March 1 to 5, 2006. Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Orissa and Jharkhand will be participating. These are the winners and runners up teams from the four zonal tournaments held earlier in the season.
During this tournament the national selectors will be watching the performance of players with a view of short listing the probables for the Indian team that would be taking part in the third World Cup, which is scheduled for December, 2006 at Pretoria, South Africa.
The tournament which is being jointly organised by the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and the Association for Cricket for the Blind in India will be played on a league cum knock out basis.
The teams will be divided into two leagues, the winners and runners up of each of the leagues will qualify for the semi finals to be played on March 4. The finals will be played at the Karnataka State Cricket Association grounds on March 5, 2006.
