3-day Seminar for Visually Challenged

CHENNAI: T o give visually-challenged youth awareness on getting study grants and orient themselves for work life after college, Tamil Nadu Association of the Blind is conducting a three-day path to development seminar for visually challenged youth at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, starting on Republic Day.

“We are trying to help visually challenged students and degree holders from the southern region. This will help them prepare on topics like education, law, psychology and employment after studies,” said Rajeshwari, VP, Tamilnadu Association of the Blind.

It will also help them know the facilities given by the government and how to make use of these. 

“The programme includes preparation for banking exams, first aid, introduction to RTE, and responsibilities of the rehabilitation council of India,” she said. Government schemes and information about various UGC grants, challenges and job prospects for the visually-challenged youth are also covered.
