THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Amway India, has launched a mobile application - Accessible Reader - for the benefit of the visually challenged individuals.
The mobile application was launched at an event organised at the National Association for Blind centre in the city where AOF has set up a full-fledged Computer Training Centre for the visually challenged students.
The aim of the computer training centre is to enable access to IT and ICT services to visually challenged students. The mobile application leverages available text-to- speech engines and makes it convenient for the visually impaired to read digital documents. AOF has taken this initiative in line with Government of India’s Accessible India Campaign that focuses on increasing the availability of Information and Technology for differently-abled people.
