ENGAGEMENT OF ACT APPRENTICES UNDER APPRENTICES ACT 1961 NOTIFICATION-01/2022
ONLINE applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the designated trades at various Divisions/Workshops/Units in the jurisdiction of Southern Railway.

4% of Apprentices to be trained are reserved for person with disability under the following physical standards as per the provisions of Schedule-II of Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and Railway Boards letter No.E(MPP)2003/6/14 Dated: 09/12/2003.
LOW VISION (LV) : The standards of fitness specified for item (3) relating to “Eyes” in schedule II of Apprenticeship Rules shall not apply in the case of a person with low vision Low vision means a person with impairment of vision of less than 6/18 to 6/10 with best correction in the better eye or impairment of field in any one of the following categories : i) Reduction of fields less than 50 degrees, ii) Heminaopia with macular involvement, iii) Altitudinal defect involving lower fields.
Disability Certificates: Candidate’s who wants to avail the benefits of reservation would have to submit disability certificate issued by the Competent Authority (i.e Medical Board constituted by the Central or State Government). The disability of the candidates should not be less than 40%.
Qualification: Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10, +2 System of education or its equivalent.
RATE OF STIPEND:

During the second year of apprenticeship training, there shall be an increase of 10 per cent in the prescribed minimum stipend amount and further 15 per cent increase in the prescribed minimum stipend amount during the third year of apprenticeship training.
AGE LIMIT
The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should NOT have completed 22/24 years for Freshers/Ex-ITI, MLT respectively.
Upper age: 10 years for PwD candidates.
For SC/ST and PwBD ( PH quota) candidates the minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate in Matriculation is not insisted upon)
Ne fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.
(i) Candidates selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw from training except for reasons, which are beyond their control. Before commencement of the training, the candidates have to execute a contract of Apprenticeship.
