Qualification: Good academic record as defined by the University with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped) or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s degree level in English from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. 

 

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have either cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR OR should have obtained Ph. D. Degree in the relevant subject. 

 

NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not conducted. 

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/- + AGP Rs. 6000/-

(ii) History

No. of posts: 03, out of which 01 for V.I.

Good academic record as defined by the University with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped) or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s degree level in History from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an 

accredited foreign University. 

 

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have either cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR OR should have obtained Ph. D. Degree in the relevant subject. 

 

NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not conducted.

Separate application form is required to be submitted for each post. 

All documents in original will have to be produced at the time of interview. 

 

Application fee: Rs. 185/- for PH candidates.

 

Candidates are required to submit duly filled-in application form in all respects, along with fee pay-in-slip (University’s copy to be deposited in Account No. 33417855484 of Panjab University, Chandigarh, payable at all Branches of State Bank of India,  so as to reach the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
