Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025 in Reserve Bank of India
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for 650 posts of ‘Assistant’ in the Reserve Bank of India, hereinafter referred to as 'the Bank’. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive examination in two phases i.e., Preliminary and Main Examination, followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

Educational Qualifications/ Experience (as on 01/02/2026)
At least a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
Candidates applying for post in a particular Recruiting Office should be proficient in the language (i.e., know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the Recruiting Office.
Note:
(1) The date of passing eligibility will be the date appearing on the marksheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.
(2) Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all the semester(s)/ year(s) by aggregating maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/ optional/ additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/ Grade is decided on the basis of Honors marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e., 49.99% will be treated as less than 50%.
(3) Some Universities/ Institutes/ Boards do not award Class or percentage of marks and allot Aggregate Grade Points (e.g., CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI, etc.). In case University/ Institute/ Board defines criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into percentage of marks, the same will be accepted. However, where the University/ Institute/ Board does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into percentage of marks, in the degree/ passing certificates, the undefined parameter(s) would be worked out as under:
The above online test/s except the Test of English Language will be available in English, Hindi and certain other languages as mentioned in Appendix-II.
A candidate has to qualify in each part of the Objective test separately.
A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.
Roll Numbers of the candidates successful in Online Examination will be made available on the Bank’s website.
EXAMINATION FEES/ INTIMATION CHARGES:
SC/ ST/ PwBD/ EXS: Intimation charges only: ₹50/- plus 18% GST
PwBD candidates may belong to any category (i.e., General/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS). Reservation for PwBD is horizontal and within the overall vacancies for the posts, subject to the posts having been identified suitable for such disabilities.
PwBD candidates should possess a latest disability certificate issued by a Competent Authority as prescribed vide RPwD Act, 2016 and Government of India’s instructions issued time to time in this regard. Such certificate shall be subject to verification/ re-verification, as may be decided by the Bank/ Competent Authority.
DoPT in consultation with Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) vide OM No. 36035/8/2023-Estt. (Res-II) dated May 19, 2023 has advised that it may not be appropriate to grant the benefit of reservation in jobs which are permanent in nature on the basis of temporary certificate of disability as this will have adverse bearing on genuine persons with benchmark disabilities with irreversible permanent disability.
A person who wants to avail benefit of reservation will have to submit a permanent disability certificate issued by a competent authority as per Government of India guidelines issued time to time in this regard and this certificate will be subject to verification/ re-verification as may be decided by the Bank.
Candidate should possess permanent disability certificate/s in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority issued prior to the closing date of application.
In view of clarification received from DEPwD vide OM No. 18-25/2024-Policy dated December 17, 2025, the candidates are advised to note that the disability conditions falling under the category "likely to improve" under temporary disability category, are not eligible for reservation. Disability conditions i.e. "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve" will be eligible for reservation. If the disability certificate submitted by a candidate only mentions ‘temporary disability’ and does not mention whether the temporary disability is "likely to improve" or is "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve", the candidate shall be required to submit a fresh disability certificate identifying nature of the temporary disability as "likely to improve" or is "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve.”
Guidelines for Visually Impaired candidates:
The facility of viewing the contents of the test in magnified font will be available to Visually Impaired candidates. Visually Impaired candidates (who suffer from not less than 40% of disability) may opt to view the contents of the test in magnified font and all such candidates will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour.
vii. Use of Scribe & Compensatory time (disability of 40% or more):
At the time of online/written examination, the following rule will apply for persons with benchmark disabilities as defined under section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016 and has limitation in writing including that of speed:
In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the person/candidate may avail facility of scribe, if so desired by the person.
In case of other category of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of scribe can be allowed on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil. Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution as per proforma at Appendix-IX.
The qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking examination. The persons with benchmark disabilities desirous of using the facility of scribe should submit details of the own scribe as per proforma at Appendix-X.
PwBD candidates who have physical limitation to type/write including that of speed shall be allowed compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination whether availing the facility of scribe or not.
Use of Scribe & Compensatory time (persons having less than 40% disability):
In addition to instructions applicable to PwBD candidates (who have disability of 40% or more), following rule will apply for persons with specified disabilities covered under the definition of Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016 but not covered under the definition of Section 2(r) of the said Act i.e., persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing:
The facility of scribe and/or compensatory time shall be granted solely to those having difficulty in writing subject to production of a certificate to the effect that person concerned has limitation to write and that scribe is essential to write examination on his/her behalf from the competent medical authority of a Government healthcare institution as per proforma at Appendix-XI.
The qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking examination. The person opting for scribe should submit details of the own scribe as per proforma at Appendix-XII.
Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination shall be allowed only to persons who are eligible for getting scribe.
Candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe/writer at his/her own cost.
Any candidate who is using scribe should ensure that he/she is eligible to use scribe in the examination as per the above guidelines. Violation of the above guidelines or suppression/ concealment of material facts shall entail the cancellation of candidature of candidate, in addition to any other action that the Bank may deem fit against the candidate and the Scribe. If violation of the above guidelines or suppression/ concealment of material facts comes to the knowledge of the Bank after the candidate has joined the Bank’s service, the candidate would be removed from the service of the Bank summarily.
During the exam, at any stage, if it is found that scribe is independently answering the questions, the exam session for such candidate will be terminated, and candidate’s candidature will be cancelled. The candidature of such candidates using the services of a scribe will also be cancelled if it is reported after the examination by the test administrator personnel that the scribe independently answered the questions.
These guidelines are subject to change in terms of Government of India guidelines/ clarifications, if any, from time to time.
Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on February 01, 2026 are first required to visit the URL "Recruitment for the Post of Assistant - Panel Year 2025" in the advertisement page for filling the ‘Online Application’. It redirects the candidates to the online registration page.
Candidates will have to enter their basic details and upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration in the online application form as per the specifications given.
To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent
In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he/ she can save the data already entered by choosing "SAVE AND NEXT" tab. Prior to submission of the online application, candidates are advised to use the "SAVE AND NEXT" facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should get the application form filled carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission.
