Panaji: What this 15-year-old accomplished is no mean feat for someone who is 100% visually impaired. Saish Gauthankar not only took the Goa Board’s Class X examination without depending on a scribe to write out his answers or him, but attained a score of 80%, reports Lisa Monteiro.
This makes Gauthankar the first student in the state to clear the Goa Board’s Class X examination using a computer and not opting for the traditional use of a scribe.
The teen attended regular classes at Santa Cruz High School and received additional coaching at the National Association for the Blind (NAB) after school hours.
