Indian Navy invites application for the post of Chargeman (ErstWhile Chargeman II )Classified as Group 'B', Non-Industrial , Non-Gazetted from eligible Indian citizens to apply ON-LINE through website

in the units under administrative control of the Western Naval Command. However,they can be posted anywhere in India, in Naval units / formations in case of any Administrative requirements:

No. of posts: 33, out of which 02 for Low Vision
2. Weapon
No. of posts: 08, out of which 01 for Low Vision
Engg Discipline includes trades of Foundry, Engine Fitter, Ref & AC fitter, ICE fitter, Machinist, Pipe Fitter.
Weapon Discipline includes Electronic Fitter, Instrument Fitter, Radio Fitter, Weapon Fitter.
Educational Qualification:
(i) Degree in Science with Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics from a recognised University.
OR
(ii) A Diploma in Engineering in the appropriate discipline from a recognised University or Board.
Age: 18-25 years
Age relaxation: 10 years for PwD candidates.
Nature of Duties:Under general supervision of Officers and Shop Foreman, the Chargeman, in the respective discipline/trade, is required to supervise repairs and refit of ships and submarine equipment and structure both onboard and on the shop floor. He responsibility is to maintain plant and machinery at the shop floor. He has to supervise and manage his team and complete the given task in the stipulated time with required quality. Whenever necessary, he has to undertake the job independently also. He has to take care of safety of his workforce under him and machines while working on board ships/shop floor/hazardous areas to provide/manage all the accessories /machines etc., to complete the task in time. The nature of duties specified is not all encompassing and is only indicative.
ScribeVisually Impaired (VH) candidates with visual disabilities of more than 40 percent and cerebral palsy candidates can avail the assistance of a scribe in the written examination subject to such request of scribe being made in the application form. Further, they will be allowed compensatory time in the examination, as applicable, in accordance with extant regulations. The other facilities will also be extended, as per Dept. of Disability Affairs OM F. No. 16-110/2003-DD.III dated 26 Feb 2013.
Before start filling up of Online Application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in jpg format in such a manner that the size of photograph should be maximum 35 KB & minimum 20KB and the size of signature should be maximum 30 KB and minimum 15 KB.
The Persons with disabilities, who want to avail benefit of reservation and age relaxation have to submit disability certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format given in Annexure-I of GOI/DOP&T OM 36035/3/2004-Estt(Res) dated 29 Dec 2005
Duration of the written test may be of one day. Candidates will have to make their own arrangement for lodging / boarding during the test.
Applicants need not send copy of Application Form or any Document to this office. However candidates are to take a printout of Application Form for his / her personal record. ONE COPY OF REGISTRATION / APPLICATION FORM AND E-ADMIT CARD IS TO BE BROUGHT AT THE VENUE OF EXAMINATION ALONGWITH REQUISITE CERTIFICATES / TESTIMONIALS IN SUPPORT OF AGE, EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION DULY SELF ATTESTED. FAILING WHICH APPLICATION OF THE APPLICANT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS VALID.
