Job title: Communications Manager
Reports to: CEO

Summary

The primary purpose of the Communications Manager position is to undertake the planning, development and delivery of internal and external communications. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise all editorial processes and ensure quality andhouse styles are maintained.

2. Contribute to, and co-ordinate production of internal and external communications, publications and materials.

3. Responsible for social media communications.

4. To develop, implement and maintain, in liaison with other staff and external consultants as required, strong Eyeway branding.

5. Ensure Score activities are photographed and create and maintain a Score / Eyeway photo library for use across a range of communications forms.

6. To contribute to planning and organizing Score/Eyeway events, in particular regarding the design and production of materials.

7. To represent Score/Eyeway at internal and external events as required.

8. To support the CEO, other senior Score staff and external public relations consultants in developing media strategy, drafting press releases, responding to media enquiries and building dialogue with journalists.

9. Act as referral person for questions on Eyeway communications materials.

10. Where appropriate, arrange for the development of video scripts and select a film producer to handle the assignment. Overview editing and production.

11. Edit the work of others to professional written communication standardsmaintaining house styles.

12. Coordinate the distribution of all promotional materials.

13. In conjunction with the CEO and senior managers, prepare the Annual Report.

PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Specific educational background:

Diploma or Degree in English, Communications, journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Essential knowledge:

Knowledge of local media/PR resources and knowledge of how to gain access to the media.
Basic understanding of public relations, persuasion, image & identity, and consistency of message.
Excellent knowledge of English and Hindi. A good knowledge of one or more other of Score’s official working languages would be welcome.
 
Essential skills:

Professional and effective written and oral communication skills.
Superior presentation and analytical skills; Excellent public speaking ability; Excellent writing skills.
Strong networking abilities.
Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments.
Because the nature of the work is project focused involving other groups and various timelines and activities, related skills of good time management, managing deadlines, and good team relationships are essential.
 
Computer skills: Good ability in Microsoft Office.
Prerequisite experience:Five years writing and editing experience.
