Enable India is a non-profit organisation working tirelessly since its inception from 1999 towards the economic independence and dignity of persons with disabilities. We cater to the needs of all kinds of disabilities like visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically
disabled, mental retardation, mental illness and more across India.

Our major thrust areas are employment, pre-employment services, supplemental education, consulting and enabling other institutions working for the disabled. Given below are details for Computer training for visually impaired in EnAble India.

Computer Training for Visually Impaired (CTVI) Team of EnAble India will be conducting Workshops on various Computer Applications from May 2010 to June 2010.
We will be also starting our Career Centric Computer Training (CCCT), 6 to 8 months regular computer training course, on 1 July 2010.

The details of Workshops are as follows:

Workshop 1:
Computer basics workshop using JAWS
Duration: 6 weeks.
Start date: 10th May 2010
End date:   19th June 2010
Eligibility: Any Visually Impaired whose age is above 15 years. Must have minimum English knowledge

Workshop 2:
Microsoft Word using JAWS.
Duration: 2 Weeks
Start Date: 10th May 2010
End Date: 21st May 2010
Eligibility: Any Visually Impaired whose age is above 15 years. Must have good knowledge of Computer Basics using JAWS, JAWS cursor & good English

Workshop 3:
Microsoft Excel using JAWS.
Duration: 2 Weeks
Start Date: 24th May 2010
End Date: 4th June 2010
Eligibility: Any Visually Impaired whose age is above 15 years. Must have good knowledge of Computer Basics using JAWS, JAWS cursor & good English

Workshop 4:
Internet using JAWS
Duration: 2 weeks.
Start Date: 7th June 2010
End Date: 19th June 2010
Eligibility: Any Visually Impaired whose age is above 15 years. Must have good knowledge of Computer Basics using JAWS, JAWS cursor & good English

Last date for registration for the workshops is 24 April 2010.

Evaluation tests will be conducted on 25, 26, and 27 April 2010.
The workshop timing is between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

CCCT:
New Batch Announcement of Computer Training For Visually Impaired

Enable India’s new batch for CCCT for the visually impaired will commence on 1 July 2010. The duration of the course is 6 to 8 months.
Class Timings: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday

Content: The course will cover English training, Keyboard Typing, Computer Fundamentals (Introduction to Windows and applications, Editing, Dialog boxes, File and folder management ) Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point), Internet,
Outlook Express, Screen reader fundamentals (Using screen reader help) and Miscellaneous concepts like scanning, software installations, Computer physical connections, CD burning etc., and life skills training which includes Employment training, career guidance and
counseling, Personality Development. The ultimate aim of this course is to make the candidate employable.

Assistance for Employment will be given for the eligible candidates after successful completion of the course
Visually impaired candidates who are preferably degree holders or 12th standard, who can understand, write & speak English, & who can attend full time training can apply.
Last date for the admission for CCCT is 19 June 2010.

Joining Procedure:
Candidates have to call EnAble India front office and fill the CCCT joining form and take appointment for the evaluation test. If they are from out of station, the evaluation and interview will be conducted via telephone. Local candidates who pass the evaluation will be asked to come for interview at EnAble India.

Dates: Evaluation Test and Personal Interview will be on 21, 22, and 23 June 2010.
Course will commence from 1 July 2010.
