he Delhi Government will authorise five more hospitals of the city to issue disability certificates in order to reduce pendency.
The decision was taken by Delhi Health Minister A K Walia today who reviewed the matter of issuance of disability certificates.
Dr Walia expressed concern over the present situation as the applicants had to suffer hardships and were forced to repeatedly visit the hospitals for getting the certificate.
Besides, the Minister instructed all authorised hospitals to organise special camps to dispose of all pending cases within a fortnight's time.
Dr Walia also instructed the authorities to make it mandatory to issue disability certificates after seven days of receipt of application for this purpose.
The new hospitals included in the list are Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, Hedgewar Arogaya Sansthan, Safdarjung Hospital and Lady Harding Hospital.
With this, the number of hospitals to issue disability certificates will go up to 17.
