Lucknow: Sanjeeta Vishwakarma, a visually impaired student, is set to get three gold medals in different categories at the Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University convocation on Friday.
Before joining DSMNRU, Sanjeeta had vision in one eye and was enrolled in Saltanat Bahadur Post Graduate College, Jaunpur. When she was in BA second year, the vision in the only eye also got low, and she had to leave the course midway.
"My dream to complete higher education was shaken when, in the second year of my BA course, I lost vision in both eyes.
I was going through the worst phase of my life after dropping out of graduation midway. Then I came to know about DSMNRU, where students like me are fulfilling their education dreams," said Sanjeeta.
She said, "I hail from Jaunpur and come from a humble background. We are six My father is not in any job . It was my brother and my younger sister who worked hard to fulfil my education dreams."
I don't know how to use braille since I used to study with normal students. Hence, when I joined DSMNRU, I began converting notes in PDF to audio files and learned from them. It was the internet, YouTube, audio files, and classroom teaching that helped me score well." tnn
