GOVT SCHOOLS OUTSHINE PVT SCHOOLS

The results of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII announced on Saturday show a successful trend in Government schools as compared to private schools. This year, there is a huge dent in the performance of private schools, whose performance has declined by nearly 10 per cent from 41.22 per cent to 32.57 per cent in its past percentage from last year.

In Delhi, the performance of candidates of private schools is 33.96 per cent while last year it was 38.52 per cent.

The Central Government-run Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) school students have scored a pass percentage of 95.43, much above the national average of 83.05 per cent while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), which are established in rural areas, have done even better with a pass percentage of 96.73.

However, the Government schools in Delhi have fared marginally well. Last year, Government schools in Delhi had a pass percentage of 88.22 while this year it is 88.98.

“The Government schools in Delhi have done marginally well. The Aam Aadmi Party cannot take credit on this yet,” CBSE PRO Rama Sharma told The Pioneer.

The pass percentage of over 1,000 KVS schools is 95.43, an improvement over the previous year’s figure of 94.72 per cent. Meanwhile, the pass percentage of the JNV students is 96.69, a marginal decline from its 96.82 per cent figure last year. Other Government schools scored a pass percentge of 83.85 while Government-aided schools showed 85.75 pass percentage.

Rakshit Malik, a differently abled student from Amity International School, Noida has scored 97.4 per cent in the Humanities stream. His All India Rank is three. Visually impaired Rakshit, who aspires to become a lecturer or join the Indian Foreign Services, said, “Such a result is not that difficult. If you have your parents and teachers with you, then nothing is difficult. I never took any coaching classes, I just had my mother and teachers.”

In the top schools of the Capital, Sanskriti School’s Rajas Bansal has topped in the Science stream with 98.8 per  cent, Dhruv Khurrana of Commerce scored 95.6 per cent and in Humanities, Tanya Aggarwal has scored 97. 6 per cent. In Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Amol Singh Raswan has topped in Commerce stream with 98 per cent, Akshay Kumar Pansari in Science stream with 98.2 per cent and Tarang Kaur in Humanities with 98.2 per cent.

In Amity International School, Ayush Srivastava has topped the Science stream with 98. 6 per cent, Sareena Roy in Humanities with 97.2 per cent and Tanishka Chawla in Commerce with 96.6 per cent.

Meanwhile, RD Public Sr Sec School, Krishna Vihar has showcased a good result with Sahil Malik scoring 96 per cent, Abhishek Gupta 95, Mukul Gajmoti 94 per cent and Himanshu Duggal 90 per cent.

Independent private schools showed a pass percentage of 82.40, which is better than last year’s 81.08 per cent.
