Wed, 01/15/2014 - 11:58 -- nikita.jain

If visually impaired people wanted to use the Microsoft Office suite, before NVDA, they'd have to purchase a screen reader – either JAWS for Windows, or Window Eyes. today, a partnership will enhance this access at no cost to users.

GW Micro has forged a partnership with Microsoft which will offer users of Microsoft Office versions starting with Office 2010 a free copy of Window-Eyes.

Window-Eyes is a screen reader available on the market today. Featuring comprehensive support for computers running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008, Window-Eyes enables individuals who are blind or visually impaired to be completely independent on a PC and be more successful and productive at school and in the workplace.
The version of Window-Eyes, which is available now for download, in over 15 languages, includes all of the functionality of the regular edition though some of the voices are not included. The ad-free experience for GW Connect is also not a part of this edition.

customers who have purchased and installed any version of Microsoft Office 2010 or 2013, including both perpetual and subscription clients, are eligible to download a free copy of Window-Eyes.
GW Micro will suspend all Software Maintenance Agreement sales for both current and new users within the next few months.

Eligible customers, using Microsoft Office 2010 or higher, will be able to download a full version of Window-Eyes starting today at WindowEyesForOffice.com. The website provides download instructions as well as additional details about this offer. once installed, your office activation code will be validated. If it's a validated copy of Microsoft Office then window eyes will run for free. Window-Eyes will run in a 30-minute demonstration mode if an Office license is not detected.

Customers can only have one version of Window-Eyes installed on the same computer at a time.
Customers outside the US need to purchase support options from their local representatives. A list of GW Micro dealers can be found at gwmicro.com/dealers.
