Govt. of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd and a new Scheme was launched on 2^nd October, 2015 for the benefit of physically handicapped including the blind.  Now, Swavalamban health insurance scheme shall be applicable to all categories of disabled.  A letter from the New India Assurance Co. along with scheme and application form are enclosed for your ready reference. Please go through this scheme carefully and spread the information amongst all interested disabled people including our blind brothers and sisters.  The scheme seems quite good and you should try that maximum blind persons are benefitted from it by paying just Rs. 355/- per annum and take benefit of over Rs. 2,00,000/- per year in case of any medical problem.  It should be kept in mind persons above the age of 65 shall not come under the scheme.
