  1. Last date for submission of appication is 30th June, 2014.
  2. The Union Public Service commission will hold a screening test for selection to Indian Forest Service (main) examination, 2014 through Civil Services (preliminary) examination, 2014 which will be held on 24th August, 2014 in accordance with the rules published by the ministry of enviornment and forests in the Gazette of India dated 31st May,2014.
  3. Blind Candidates will be required to take the examination at any one of the seven centers viz. Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dispur, Mumbai.
  4. As per the information recieved from the Ministry of Environment and Forests one vacancy has been kept for  the visually impared candidates.
  5. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2014 that is he must not have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and no later than 1st August, 1993.
  6. Mobile phones are banned.

Information

  1. Candidates recieving reservation/relaxation benefits available for physically handicapped must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation/relaxation as per elegibility prescribed in the rules/notice. They should also be in possession of all the requisite certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim as stipulated in the rules/notice for such benifites, and these certificates should be dated earlier than the due date (closing date) of the application for the civil services (preliminary) examination.
  2. Candidates should note that the government has changed the pattern of the Indian Forest Service Examination from the Examination year 2013 by introducing a component of screening mechanism through Civil Services (preliminary) examination. All candidates applying for Indian Forest Service Examination re therore required to appear in the civil services 9preliminary) examination and qualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forest Service (main) examination (written and Interview)
  3. Candidates dersirous of applying for the Indian Service Examination and for the Civil Service Examination can apply through a common online application from subject to meeting the requisite eligibility criteria by them.
  4. Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.
  5. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-admission will be made available in the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in) or downloading by candidates. No admission certificate wil be sent by post.
  6. Candidates should note that there will be negative marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
  7. For both writing and marking answers in the OMR sheet, candidates must use blaack ball pen only.
