GIST: Revised guidelines on Issuance of ATM / Debit Card to Visually impaired persons.

Please refer to our Circular letter dated 29.10.2007 vide which the detailed guidelines for issuance of ATM / Debit cards to visually impaired persons were conveyed to all zones (now circles). The guidelines were also reiterated vide our Cir no. 02/2009 dated 27.01.09 to percolate the same to all branches in their circles for meticulous compliance.KKeeping in view the increasing number of references, the authorities have approved the revised guidelines on issuance of ATM /Debit cards to visually impaired persons which are as under:
ATM / Debit cards to visually impaired persons may be issued considering the merits of each applicant like educational qualification, status etc. The specific request along with full justification be sent to their respective circle office for approval for issuance of card. The Undertaking to be taken from the applicant at the time of issuance of card has been redrafted. In future, only revised undertaking (enclosed) is to be obtained.Circle Heads have been empowered to approve such cases instead of GM-OSD HO.
