JEPC project promotes digital learning for visually impaired students in state
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has launched Project Jyoti to promote digital inclusion for visually impaired students. The initiative aims to harness the power of mobile technology to support students in Classes VIII and above across five districts: Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Gumla, Saraikela, and Khunti.
The project has been formalized through a recently signed MoU between JEPC and Mjauction, a flagship CSR initiative by Tata Steel and SAIL, and Vimal Imparod.
Over the course of the one-year pilot project, more than 100 visually impaired students will receive mobile devices to support their educational journey. Furthermore, 30 special educators will undergo training to become master trainers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to guide and assist these students effectively.
Project Jyot will enable the use of cost-effective assistive devices to offer alternative learning methods for visually impaired students in govt and govt-aided schools throughout Jharkhand.
