Special Recruitment Drive for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
Applications are invited in the prescribed format from eligible Indian Nationals for the following posts:
Posts:
1. Junior Clerk-cum-Typist
No. of posts: 42, out of which 22 for VH
Pay band: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay: Rs. 1900/-
Age: 18-30 years
Educational qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent and typing of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi. Candidates who possess higher qualification can also apply.
2. Account Clerk-cum-Typist
No. of posts: 03 for Low Vision
Pay band: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay: Rs. 1900/-
Age: 18-30 years
Educational qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent and typing of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi. Candidates who possess higher qualification can also apply.
Candidates should fill up the application in his/her own handwriting and must sign as well as put their left hand thumb impressions at the prescribed places. Application should be filled either in English or in Hindi. Application should be on a good quality A4 size bond paper using one side only.
Selected candidates will have to undergo training wherever training is prescribed for the post.
PwD candidates must submit Medical Certificate in the prescribed format. The visually handicapped candidates who want to utilise the services of scribe must make the request in prescrined format (Annexure-6). He/She has to submit a declaration with the details of scribe to be engaged for the examination in Annexure-6
Age relaxation: By 10 years for PwD-UR, 13 years for OBC-PwD and 15 years for SC&ST-PwD
Examination fee: No examination fee for PwD candidates.
How To Apply:
The application format as per Annexure 1&2 should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting, with blue or black ball point pen dated and signed. Only international numerical i.e. 1,2,3 etc should be used.
Photograph: One recent (not earlier than three months from the date of application) colour passport size photograph will clear front view of the candidate without cap and sungalsses should be pasted on the
application form inthe box below the photograph. One identical extra colour passport size photograph should be enclosed with the application, indicating candidates name and category number on the reverse of the photograph.
Applications complete in all respects along with required enclosures should be sent by ordinary post to The Chief Personnel Officer, South Western Railway, New Zonal Headquarters Office Building, Gadag Road, Hubli-580020.
Enclosures:
The following enclosures as applicable:
1. Application form in the prescribed format ( given in the employment news)
2. Information sheet in the prescribed format (given in the employment news)
3. One copy of identical passport size colour photograph firmly stiched to the application.
4. Self attested copy of matriculation/high school examination certificate or an equivalent certificate including date of birth.
5. Self attested copy of educational and or professiona qualification prescribed for the post being applied.
6. Self attested photostat copy of caste certificate from competent authority in the case of SC/ST candidates & OBC candidates.
7. Disability certificate in prescribed for by persons with disabilities.
8. Declaration form by the visually handicapped/those whose writing speed by cerebral palsy candidates and scribe to the engaged for writing the examination
Definitions: PwD
Blindness: Blindness refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions, namely (i) total absence of sight or (ii) visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lense (iii) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse.
Low Vision: Person with Low Vision means a person with inpairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device.
Degree of disability for reservations: Only such persons would be eligible for reservation in services/posts who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability. A person who wants to avail the benefit of reservation will have to submit a disability certificate issued by a competent authority as given in employment news (Annexure-5).
S.W. Railway may hold written examination anywhere in Karnataka.
The centres allotted by S.W. Railway will be final and binding.
Candidates finally selected are liable to be posted anywhere on Indian Railways, if required.
