Wind up schemes not working properly. Chalk out schemes which are in the interest of students. This was stated by Minister of State for Technical Education (Independent Charge), Deepak Joshi at a meeting of ITI principals here today.
Joshi asked principals to take Skill India Campaign as a challenge and ensure effective use of available resources. He said that if prescribed training is not being imparted in private ITIs then action should be taken against them.
Joshi said that every ITI should chalk out a plan to ensure jobs for minimum 100 students in every 2 months. He directed that students should be helped to get bank loans on priority. Students should be informed about importance of ITI right from class IX. Scholarships should be distributed through Samagra Portal.
Joshi said that new ITIs must have hostel buildings. He said that a scheme should be chalked out for certification of artisans of Bag prints of Dhar district and Chanderi saris of Ashok Nagar district. Training in skill development centres should be imparted in accordance with local requirements. SCVT courses should be attached with NCVT courses.
Principal Secretary Technical Education Kalpana Shrivastava said that opportunities of skill development should be increased.
Director Technical Education Sanjeev Singh informed that 419 seats have been reserved for deaf and dumb and 104 for vision impaired students. He informed that Global Vocational Training Institute would be established at Bhopal with assistance of Asian Development Bank. Placement portal is also being developed.
Regional Joint Directors should be informed about schemes and innovations. ITI Ujjain's principal informed that most of technical works are done through students. Due to this, students get practical training.
