Join us as we embark on a self-employment drive

Covid 19 has increased the challenges manifold for blind and visually impaired people. Facing job losses, many have approached financial institutions for loans to set up small businesses. Unfortunately, they are turned down on grounds of disability.

Take the example of 25-year old Wasif Shaikh from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, who wants to start a small poultry farm. It’s been eight months since he applied for a loan from the Social Welfare Department, there has been no response.

Similarly, Manjunath, a daily wager from Bangalore, Karnataka, is waiting to undergo training so he can avail loan under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Scheme. However, all trainings remain disrupted since the onset of the pandemic.

Score Foundation believes that entrepreneurship can be explored as an avenue for blind people to become independent and economically self- reliant. Towards this end, we have started interacting with organizations like Rang de to help with finance, training and business incubation support.

We propose to use the virtual Airtel Delhi Half Marathon starting from 25th to 29th November, 2020 to raise funds (INR 10,00,000) for our latest offering. In this regard, we urge you to become champions of our cause by either making a donation or by raising funds from your network of family and friends.

Please note that all donations are exempt of Income Tax under Section 80G.
