A Journey Reshaped by Resilience

Amit Kumar, a young man from Bihar, was born totally blind into a family with limited means. Despite his challenges, he remained committed to education and studied up to the 8th grade. However, due to difficult circumstances at home, he was forced to discontinue his schooling.

Even after stepping away from school, Amit’s desire to learn never faded. He wanted to continue his education but lacked awareness of the pathways available to visually impaired learners. With no guidance or accessible resources, his dream seemed out of reach.

In search of direction, Amit reached out to the Eyeway Helpline. After understanding his situation, the counselor guided him toward a feasible and empowering solution — completing his 10th standard through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). For Amit, this information opened a door he didn’t know existed.

Eyeway supported him through the admission process, helping him take the first concrete step back into academics. To ensure he could study independently, Eyeway also provided all his learning materials in audio format, enabling him to study confidently and at his own pace.

Today, Amit is enrolled in Class 10 and is filled with renewed motivation and hope. His journey marks a significant shift — from uncertainty to determination, from limited opportunities to a future full of possibilities. With ongoing guidance from Eyeway, he is not only continuing his education but also learning how to build a successful career and a purposeful life.

Amit’s experience highlights a broader reality — while talent and determination exist in abundance, access to information and enabling systems often do not. Until structural support becomes more inclusive, many like Amit will continue to rely on platforms such as Eyeway to bridge critical gaps in opportunity.
