Restarting Education, Redefining the Future

Aniket Bhati, a 22-year-old from Gautam Buddh Nagar in Noida, once found his life suddenly paused. Coming from a modest family, his father sells packed milk and his mother manages the household. Aniket grew up with simple aspirations and a routine like any other student.

In 2016, while studying in Class 8, everything changed. A brain tumour led to complete vision loss, and despite treatment, his eyesight could not be restored. The sudden shift left him uncertain and disconnected from the path he once followed. For nearly ten years, Aniket remained at home, unsure of what direction his life could take next.

A turning point came when he joined a computer course at the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) in Dehradun. It was here that he learned about Eyeway.

Looking for guidance, Aniket reached out. During the conversation, he shared his desire to restart his education but did not know how to begin. With the right support, he was guided to take admission in Class 10 through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), along with assistance in choosing subjects that suited his needs and goals.

To make learning accessible, Aniket was connected to audio-based study resources, including the Shravan audiobook library. He was also introduced to accessible platforms like Sugamya Bharat and Bookshare, which opened up a range of study materials in formats he could use independently.

Alongside this, Aniket was guided on using assistive technologies such as NVDA and JAWS, helping him navigate digital tools with confidence.

Today, Aniket is preparing for his Class 10 exams, taking steady steps toward rebuilding his education. What once felt like a long period of uncertainty is now slowly transforming into a journey of learning and independence.

His story reflects how timely information and the right support can help someone rediscover direction, even after years of feeling stuck.
